BURNT OAK - SEASON 2009 WINNERS:

Wednesday 10th February saw the top drivers of 2009 awarded trophies and prizes for their efforts in championship.

Trevor Fox, was awarded the main trophy for winning the overall championship (right) and was also given a Ninco Lexus GT car and a Slot.It rear axle kit for his efforts. Trevor was also awarded a trophy for coming first in Sports/GT, Group C, Rally, Touring Cars and SCX Sports/GT.

Second place in the championship went to Marc Abbott (far top right) who also won a Ninco Lexus.

Third place went to Russell Turner (right middle) who was awarded a Ninco Mitsubishi.

Ian Foreman (bottom right) was awarded first place as Formula 1 champion.

Steve Windsor, (not present) won Club Cars.

This year's championship has started in anger again with the introduction of a new class - Ninco Lexus GT. Racing in this class will be limited to a standard motor but gearing may be upgraded. This should prove to be a very closely fought series as everyone will have the same machinery available to work on.

Also the new section under the bridge has been completed, taking out the nasty kink just before bridge entry which has resulted in drivers approaching the final bend at a far greater speed than normal, and a slightly quicker lap time.
